Shih-Chieh Kao

Shih-Chieh Kao is originally from Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He completed his B.Sc. at Tamkang University, M.Sc at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, and PhD at Rice University in Texas. He is currently investigating iron-catalyzed C-H activation.

Fáinché Murphy

Fáinché is originally from County Armagh, Ireland. She completed her MSci at Queen's University, Belfast and her PhD at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, which focussed on the design and development of new bimetallic catalysts based on main group metal centres. Her current research in the group focuses on iron catalysed cross-electrophile couplings for sustainable catalysis.

Benedek Stadler

Benedek is from Budapest, Hungary. Moving to Imperial College London, he completed his MSci in 2021 and his PhD in 2025, studying the fundamental reactivity of iron-aluminium heterometallic complexes under the supervision of Prof. Mark Crimmin. In the same year, he was awarded an independent Junior Research Fellowship at Christ Church to study low-oxidation state iron chemistry, which he took up with the Neidig group

Matthew Kania

Matthew is originally from Denver, Colorado. He obtained his B.A. in Chemistry at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, then afterwards spent a few years in industry before obtaining his PhD at Montana State University where he studied oxidative addition mechanisms of aryl-halides at palladium(0) catalytic complexes under Prof. Sharon Neufeldt. My current research interests include developing, and investigating the mechanisms behind, iron catalysed carbon-heteroatom bond formation reactions.

Anna Parkin

Anna is originally from Milton Keynes, England. She completed her MChem at the University of York. Her research interests lie in iron catalysed hydrogen borrowing reactions. She is currently studying for a DPhil as part of the CSHP CDT in the Neidig and Donohoe groups in Oxford, as well as, the Lynam group in York.

Eloise Green

Eloise is originally from Southampton, England. She is currently in her fourth year studying Chemistry at Wadham College, University of Oxford. Her Part II project focuses on enantioselective iron cross-coupling reactions.

Freya Butler

Freya is originally from Hertfordshire, England. She completed her MChem at Exeter College, University of Oxford. Her research interests lie in developing iron polymerisation catalysts, investigating their mechanism of action and establishing structure-performance correlations.

Maria Healy

Maria is originally from Clare, Ireland. She completed her B.A. (Mod) in Chemistry with Biosciences at Trinity College Dublin, University of Dublin. She is currently investigating iron catalysed C-H activation.

George Kokin

George is originally from Temirtau, Kazakhstan. He completed his B.Sc. at Moscow State University and M.Sc. at the National University of Singapore. He is working on the synthesis and spectroscopic characterisation of Iron(I) complexes and their relevance for cross-coupling reactions.

Jos Briggs-Pritchard

Jos is from originally from Staffordshire, England. He completed his MChem degree at Keele University. His current research interests lie in mechanistic investigations of iron-catalysed electrophile cross coupling systems.

Ben Sinclair

Ben is originally from Cheshire, England. He completed his MChem degree at Christ Church College, University of Oxford. His research interests are in ligand development and mechanistic studies of aryl-alkyl iron catalysed cross-couplings.

Emily is originally from Hampshire, England. She is in her fourth year studying Chemistry at Magdalen College, University of Oxford. Her Part II project focuses on the synthesis of dinuclear complexes of the base metals and their application for cross-coupling reactions.

Eloise Dignan

Eloise is originally from Staines, England. She is currently in her fourth year studying Chemistry at Wadham College, University of Oxford. Her Part II project involves mechanistic study into enantioselective iron catalysed oxidative cross-coupling.

Peter Aitken

Peter is originally from Cambridge, England. He is currently in his fourth year studying Chemistry at Merton College, University of Oxford. His Part II research is focussed on iron-catalysed cross-couplings for alkene synthesis.
